beowulf rips off tomb raider

Saw Beowulf over the weekend. It had a particularly nice storyline, a simple story of a hero, the deal he made with a particular monster, and his redemption at the end. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece but it's really a refreshing CGI-based movie that doesn't involve singing cartoon characters. No musical montages or anything, which a much need and welcomed change, for any animated movie.

But anyways, this is not the point of this post. I've noticed something weird about the Beowulf movie poster. Check it out:

beowulf vs tomb raider poster

Did the Beowulf people just rip-off the Tomb Raider poster? It's the same Angelina Jolie. Notice the similarities? Only differences are Beowulf's Angelina Jolie has a longer braid and she' gold and naked.

Beowulf was all around impressive, though the characters' movement reminded me a lot of Shrek.

Made by the same people who made Shrek, I wouldn't be surprised.

I've noticed something about the movie recently, 2nd viewing on DVD.

Have you noticed that the production team put a lot of effort in to CGI-ing the male characters, the level of details is just amazing, complete with liver spots and all.

But on the other hand, have you noticed that they didn't really pay that much attention to the female characters. I mean, they look like they are molded out of Gumby's liposuction fat.

Of course, they paid meticulous attention to rendering the perfect naked Angelina Jolie.
